Congress and Crypto

Lately there has been a lot of negativity surrounding cryptocurrencies,. Congress just released a report that is GREAT NEWS! In it they stated that last year was the year for crypto currencies. They are asking lawmakers to cooperate with the technology.

The yearly Joint Economic Report is essentially an assessment of the nation’s economic status and includes any recommendations for the upcoming year. This year there was an entire section that was dedicated to blockchain technology and the cryptocurrencies. This is the first time that the blockchain has been announced in any major publication.

The report was positive and said it can help fight cyber crimes and even protect the nations economy and infrastructure. The report states that lawmakers and regulators should become more familiar with crypto and the blockchain technology.

Here is a quote:

“Policy makers, regulators, and entrepreneurs should continue to work together to ensure developers can deploy these new blockchain technologies quickly and in a manner that protects Americans from fraud, theft, and abuse, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.”

So along with saying that crypto should be regulated it says that government agencies should look at the technology for good. This is such positive news which is needed in this market. The US government is showing positive signs for the block chain and crypto.
